Truth as we all know it's sure through a collection of constants—numbers and values that dictate the strengths of forces like gravity, the rate of sunshine, and the hundreds of easy debris. within the Constants of Nature, Cambridge Professor and bestselling writer John D. Barrow takes us on an exploration of those governing ideas.

The situation can be described by a phase diagram similar to that of Fig. 2-4. where the two dynamic symmetries are placed at the extremes of a line. Each molecule is represented by a point and if the point is close to one of the extremes the molecule displays the corresponding symmetry, Fig. 3-3. As in the previous case, the group approach provides then a complete classification of all the possible shapes of diatomic molecules. The applications of symmetry considerations of the type described in this and the preceding section can be extended further to encompass more complex situations.
